Surgical Focus

It’s no good having sharp images if your ideas are fuzzy.
Dan and Martin may be out of focus but their ideas are pin sharp.
See you in Edinburgh Gunslingers.
Whilst we are away…
Something to entertain you… Poetry by Daniel Cockrill (oh, that’s me) Animation by the brilliant Richard Jackson and music by the lovely Julian Ward… enjoy.

BANG at Camden Crawl
So this is what happened at the Camden Crawl…

We stuffed everything in the back of Martin’s car… including his son Victor.

Then off to the venue… and like a well oiled machine we set up.

We kept an eye on our beers…

Martin kicked it all off… Rude Bastards

Then Rob… Laaaaadies and Geeeentlemen…

and then Wallop …

ANNA LE – GAYMERS CAMDEN CRAWL 2011 POETRY SLAM CHAMPION

That was 3 hours of top entertainment… THE END
Du Mag also wrote this…
Lebt in Essex. Erstes Buch ‘Pie and Papier mache’ (2007).
Which Google brilliantly translate as this..
Lives in Essex. First book, ‘Pie and Papier-mache’(2007). Leads regular poetry slams moderately by where it occurs even under the slogan: “For people who sleep normally not covered by blankets, are made of poems”. His biography, he summarizes this way: Dan was born in Essex blah blah blah blah …
Excellent.
Google Translate
Apparently this is the Google translation…
“An outstanding slam poet, chick magnet, all round nice guy and a large format photographer to show their home, as it is – beautiful, sad, corrosive. Their collaboration is both a declaration of love as a bitter indictment of the down badly shattered England of today and the contradictions of our affluent life”.

Du Magazine
I’m in this months edition of Du magazine along side John Steinbeck, Raymond Carver, Robert Capa to name but a few. John Steinbeck’s Mum is really proud. Steinbeck’s Mum has no idea who I am. My mum has no idea who Steinbeck is.
It is a german magazine. I can’t read a bloody word. This is what they said about the work. Nice.

This is what happens…
when London’s Premiere Poetry Club do lunch. We have done to business lunch what we did for poetry… made it interesting. Business meetings will never be the same again.

Wow.. who is the hot redhead? Oh, it’s Sarah (Head of Merchandise), must of had my beer goggles on.

Apparently, Sarah has a good side. Rob doesn’t have a good side. Martin is all good. And Dan just is…
