Poetical Poll

Last night, the BANG SAID THE GUN POETICAL POLL was won, believe it or not, by a FREE RANGE CHICKEN…

With the help of ANNA THE HUMAN SWING-O-METER The FREE RANGE CHICKEN beat David Cameron, Harry Potter and even Billy Bragg to top the BANG SAID THE GUN POETICAL POLL.

If you want real choice and to voice your opinion about who you think should run Britain then why not come to BANG SAID THE GUN this Thursday where you can vote for TIM CLARE, AF HARROLD or continue to show your support for the FREE RANGE CHICKEN… the decision is yours!

BANG SAID THE GUN revealed the schedule for the eagerly-awaited live poetry debates on the lead up to Britain’s May 6 polling date.

The sessions will be screened on BANG TEEVEE on Thursday April 15th, April 22nd, April 29th and May 6th.
Members of the audience will be able to join in by signing up to the TEQUILA SHOT OPEN MIC or by rattling their shakers and waving their glow sticks, while viewers can watch all the latest action on line at BANG TEEVEE.
The first poetry debate, hosted by Daniel Cockrill, will star FRAN LANDESMAN and will take place at the ROEBUCK, 50 GREAT DOVER STREET, LONDON SE1.
The second event, which features PAUL BIRTILL, will be based on very truthful but very gloomy poetry. Audience members are warned that it is also extremely funny.
The third debate, themed on long beards and arbitrary lists, will be a moderate look at life by TIM CLARE and AF HARROLD.
The final debate includes DAVID J VOCAL PUGILIST who weaves words so deliciously that even David Cameron would put down his top hat and shut up for at moment.
For the first time in history, this General Election pitches leaders of the three biggest parties against BANG SAID THE GUN.
Televised debates have been a feature of US presidential elections since 1960, but have been blocked in Britain because the public is aware that politicians are all a bunch of lying scum bags.

So who are you going to vote for?
TIM CLARE, AF HARROLD, PAUL BIRTILL, FRAN LANDESMAN, DAVID J, all dancing with their words and shouting out the truth, or Gordon Brown, David Cameron and Nick Clegg, dribbling nonsense and telling you some whopping great porky pies. So vote with your feet, vote poetry, vote BANG SAID THE GUN… where your opinions actually count!

AF HARROLD faces travel CHAOS!

AF HARROLD faces travel chaos during the four days after Easter as two rail unions yesterday announced strike action.
AF Harrold Pic

Walkouts by signallers and maintenance staff will wreck his plans to perform at BANG SAID THE GUN on THURSDAY 8th APRIL and frustrate many poetry fans trying to get to the venue.
The first national rail strike for 16 years will start on Tuesday 6th April, and run until Friday 9th April, in a row over plans to axe 1,500 maintenance jobs. What is more important? Jobs or Poetry?

Gerry Doherty, general secretary of the Transport Salaried Staffs Association, said the strikes had been timed to avoid the Easter break but ruin BANG SAID THE GUN for thousands of poetry lovers.

Bob Crow of the RMT union called for assurances that jobs will be protected. He said: “This is another hammer blow for the rail industry, but as an apology to all Gunslingers, I will write several haiku and perform them naked if AF HARROLD doesn’t make it to BANG SAID THE GUN.” Network Rail said: “We will work with poetry fans and have a contingency plan in place if things go tits up!”

Yeah right… just squeeze our balls very tight!!!

Another night of BANG!!!

Another great night was had by all down at BANG SAID THE GUN.

AF HARROLD entertained all the gunslingers with stories from his deliciously irreverent world. He applauded the loud and enthusiastic audience, the high quality of all the other performers and the general Bang spirit that everyone brings to the event.

The Tequila Shot Open Mic was won by the brilliant MARK NIEL – see him take the stage next week with the fantastic ZENA EDWARDS + JACOB SAM LA ROSE.

Thanks Gunslingers – you made it another special night for spoken word and Bang Said The Gun.
