MODERN TOSS

Last night, I was lucky enough to attend the private view yeah, of Modern Toss’s Museum of Urban Shit-Naks. It’s at the Maverick Gallery in Shoreditch. As art goes, it was brilliant. Sweary, rude, rough, belligerent, infantile, full of wit, everything a good poem should be, except it was art, hanging on a wall. This is what they say about art….Art is not about what is good or bad. It’s about how it makes you feel…. I like that sort of talk. Go and see it yeah and laugh your tits off. It’s on until 4th July.

Good job Amy. See Amy perform an extended set along side the marvellous BYRON VINCENT and the very wonderful MOLLY NAYLOR at next weeks BANG. (More details here)

BYRON will be doing it at BANG!

Last Night…

Last night was a brilliant show. Don’t take my word for it, here is what audience member WASI DANIJU had to say about it…
“Another blues-bustingly awesome night of bangin’ word-magicry!! I really almost didn’t come, and I’m highly glad that I did. Both friends that came had an equally amazing time. And it was so brilliant to be part of Raw Meat – the buzz in the room was so totally tangible (almost edible, in fact) that I didn;t even get the chance to get nervous beforehand – I was way too busy whooping and shaking and stocking up on glo-sticks!
Almost lastly, but absolutely the polar opposite of leastly, the Round House Collective and Polar Bear were just every single shade of flippin’ mind-blowingly excellent. That last performer from the Collective almost made me stand up and scream ‘preach it’ a number of times. Just so awesome.
Finally – to the Bang crew – kudos ad nauseum.
 See you next time!”
Wasi Daniju (Audience Member)

Thanks Wasi, we salute you!

BANG ROCK MEADOWLANDS

BANG SAID THE GUN rocked MEADOWLANDS over the weekend. The crowds enjoyed spots of rain, spots of poetry, spots before their eyes and some thumping tunes which hurt my ears! Here are a few bad pictures from our adventures. Better ones to follow shortly…

A bloody nice house – MEADOWLANDS is a lovely place to be!

A spot of lunch.. how lovely…

The Bang Said The Gun boys got together for a spot of lunch the other day, and let’s face it, it was very lovely. This is what people have come to expect from the delicious world of BANG. It is more of a lifestyle than a poetry event, in fact we might publish a Bang Said The Gun self help book so that others can be as frivolous, care free and pretentious as us… we work very hard at it thank you very much!
