Old News

I thought I’d take this opportunity to show you something from a long time ago in a galaxy far far away.

I’ll try and get the rest of the old recordings up soon. ha ha ha!

Bang 2009

Here is Ant Smith’s take on Bang Said The Gun 2009. Thanks Ant – it is very lovely!

And while we are at it – here is one of Ant’s shots of our new Tequila Shot World Champ – Lucy Carrington.

A whole lot of Rattling and Shaking…

If you didn’t make it down to Bang last night then you missed a whole lot of rattling and shaking from all the wonderful Gunslingers.

Liz Bentley rocked our world with an extremely funny and insightful set.
Paul Lyalls smiled a lot and seemed to sell quite a few books. I bought one. It is very good.
The World Famous Tequila Shot Open Mic went off with a Bang and Lucy Carrington is the new World Champion.

Here is the only picture of Lucy I could find – but it is more a picture of me. Lucy doesn’t have a phone or an email address – she does have a real address though.

Come On Lucy - Give it some!!!

What else happened? Martin’s live link from the jungle failed (the file was corrupt – a bit like the bloke who made it) so we will show it at next month’s Bang. Something to look forward to!

Popshot magazine came along for the crack. I think they enjoyed themselves. http://www.popshotpopshot.com/
Subscribe Gunslingers – Subscribe!!!

And just so you know – we’ve had 500 hits on our Bang Said The Gun YouTube site – keep going Gunslingers – let’s keep watching ourselves. It is almost better the second time around!

Paul Plays Bang

Catching The Cascade

Paul Lyalls is coming to Bang Said The Gun on Thursday and he will be reading from his new book ‘Catching The Cascade’. So bring your pocket money and buy a book or two – it will make a very delicious Christmas present for your mum!

Forget Button, Rob is the Champion!

Rob won the Utter Slam Final last night… Well done Rob, you have come a long way since climbing out of Spike Milligan’s sock drawer. More on this story later, hopefully with comments from Rob himself.

What is he doing?

What is Martin doing? Martin is on the prowl! Over the next few months he will be trailing around all the dodgy pubs, clubs and venues of London looking for top, top talent to appear at Bang Said The Gun (the best spoken word event this side of Ipswich). So look out performance poets – he could be looking for you!

“But Dan” you say, “how will we know he is about? What does he look like?”
Well, he is a smaller version of Darwin (the bloke on the ten pound note) and his beard is shorter – that’s evolution for you!

Vote for Rob…

Isnt he cute!

Isn't he cute!

Our very own Rob Auton is taking part in the Utter! Paid Gig final tonight. We think he is brilliant (if not a bit tall), so go along and support him here…

Cross Kings, 126 York Way, King’s Cross N1 0AX.
On the door: £5 before 7.30pm, £10 after NO EXCEPTIONS, GET THERE EARLY!

GO ROB!

Bang Loves… Mark Power’s new project.

We at Bang love Mark Power’s new project ‘Destroying the Laboratory for the Sake of the Experiment’ – and not just because I’m in it. Well, maybe that has something to do with it. – but it is still bloody good!
